Make User Account Control (UAC) Stop Blacking Out the Screen in Windows Vista

You noticed that in Windows Vista, the monitor screen goes dark/fade when the User Account Control (UAC) window comes up, which is sometimes annoying.Microsoft call this as the “Secure Desktop”.

Before proceeding this tweak,note that this will make your Windows Vista computer less secure.The steps for this tweak is given below:

Click on Windows Vista start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy:

Expand the Local Security Policy window, browse down to Local Policies \ Security Options

Over in the right hand part of the Local Security Policy window, scroll down near the bottom and find the item titled “User Account Control: Switch to the secure desktop when prompting for elevation”. Double-click on it to open it up, then change it to disabled.
